All I needed in 2004 was to complete my pro bono session to obtain my certification in Results Coaching. The dream never left me because I knew I had it in me, yet I allowed the corporate world to swallow me up.
In 2017, I decided to stop procrastinating and completed a course in Executive Coaching and the 100 hrs allowed me to join a voluntary coaching program called Ignite in our bank, where we coach women at Director and Executive Director levels to reach their aspirations.
It was initially daunting but I soon realized that everyone has something they want and need, but are not sure how to articulate their desire. They just require some help to have their aha moment and the realization that they have the ability to get back on track.
Their gratitude expressed made all the other challenges with my day job so much more worthwhile, and gave me a new purpose in life, to wean off my day job and become a full-time coach.
I have 2 coaching experiences that stood out for me in my early days. One lady Director whom I needed to coach, didn’t know why she was there etc. she was constantly butting heads with her colleagues and stakeholders. I really thought we were not going anywhere until we found out her triggers in session 4. Everything changed thereafter and she was flying. She made it to the Top 100 HERoes Woman Future Leaders.
Another Exec Director with a high-profile role thought she knew which direction she wanted to go but after a few probing and thought-provoking questions, she realized that she was chasing the wrong path and gained so much more confidence, enough to agree to go on a live debate televised live, something she said she could never bring herself to do, having been asked before. So much gratitude as all their wins are my wins too.
Having an opportunity to use the tools Mindvalley CLC gave me on my current 3 coachees was dynamic! I have them saying that they can’t wait for the next session and will not allow themselves to be double booked. My next sessions with 3MIQ and 6 Phase has got me pumped for sure. I am blessed to be able to help others and can’t wait to share these valuable lessons and most of all, to coach myself or be coached.
I love the new friendships made, I know some will be lasting. We all made a pact to be the change when we signed up. If it wasn’t for me booked to finally meet my new grandson who turns 2 in July in Italy, I would have been on my way to Tallin.
