In the months before joining the Mindvalley/Evercoach Certified Life Coaching program, I was not only dealing with the same challenges affecting our world related to the Covid-19 Pandemic and collective loss & grief, I found myself moving deeper into the role of caregiver for my husband dealing with end-stage heart disease (now in hospice at home). At the same time, as a nonprofit leader and senior-level professional in the field of philanthropy for many years, I found myself concerned about my ability to continue on that professional path. With a personal history of living with the death of loved ones while finding joy in the midst of grief, beginning at a young age, I began feeling called to support others struggling with loss and grief.
After writing a book that was a #1 New Release upon publication in 2021—Grieving Us: A Field Guide for Living With Loss Without Losing Yourself—I found readers and others reaching out to me as a resource. Simultaneously, I knew I needed to grow my own capacity to support myself through anticipatory grief and the pressures of so many responsibilities on my shoulders. Then in moment of synchronicity or serendipity around my birthday, I landed on the Evercoach CLC announcement of the Spring 2022 program. In a leap of faith, I joined.
The CLC program has been more than I ever could have imagined. Within a month, I was coaching & mentoring my first private client through her recent losses and how to rebuild her life. My plan before joining CLC was to do only group coaching, though with the concepts, practices, approaches, and tools the CLC shares, I discovered I'm not only loving 1:1 coaching but I'm making a real difference in others' lives. After just one coaching session, my first client posted an unsolicited, glowing testimonial on a public referral site. Then at the end of almost every session, she thanks me for coming into her life. It's so incredibly humbling and moving for me.
Looking back over my CLC journey, I never imagined that I'd learn so much so fast—helping me and helping me help others almost immediately.
As I prepare to graduate from the program, I have 3 private clients, have set up a wonderful client portal for sharing resources and communicating with them between sessions, I'm discovering new sources of creativity & problem-solving within me, funds have come into my Stripe account proving that I can make coaching & mentoring my livelihood, I've had the confidence to step away from my high-paying former career, and I have launched my Transcending Grief Coaching & Mentoring solopreneur business. Pretty incredible, yes?
I feel so much gratitude to the other students on this journey, an incredibly diverse and internationally distributed cohort who have expanded my mind in so many way. I offer immense thanks to Master Coach Ajit and Coach Fran for their deep experience and empathetic (and very different) coaching approaches.
The Mindvalley/Evercoach Certified Life Coaching program ranks among the best learning and professional education experiences that I've invested in. I'm calmer and more self-confident, my capacity as a person and a professional to serve others has grown tremendously, and I see more possibilities for my life now than the day I signed up for this one-of-a-kind program. Thank you everyone.
