As a profession, I've written motivational programs, films, videos etc, and was a successful motivator. Now it was hard to get out of bed. I kept asking myself, why the decline, and could never find the answer. It was hard for me to understand after achieving goals as an accomplished singer/songwiter, artist and writer/producer; yet I could not sing, writer or imagine.
One day I stumbled upon Mindvalley and the Silva Method.
I had a Silva book when I was in an arts high school and knew a little about it. Now looking for a way to middle C, if you will, I checked out Mindvalley online and signed up to get emails and listed some of the things I was interested on their site. I received a notice about Paul McKenna's audio workshop on confidence, financial and weight loss. I signed up to listen to it. It was so enlightening.
Paul McKenna, did hypnosis on those listening in on the program. I liked the financial story he told about substituting the word "shovels" in old behavior patterns that blocked you to help you change the pattern.
After the program, I sang for the first time. Bam! Snare drum hit! Orchestra double hit!! (If you are a fan of synth music production bundling sound and artists like Malcolm McLaren, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, you know what I mean by Orchestral double hit!) I knew I had, had a breakthrough. When I had a chance to sign up for a course to become a certified hypnotherapist, I jumped at the chance. I wanted to also help people break through. I was so encouraged by Paul Mckenna that I wanted to have his kind of knowledge, to learn what he knows. In other words,"I wanted to be like Paul."
Kind of corny, but encouraging breakthroughs, was the thinking I used when writing song or scripts during which time I was the happiest in life.
Taking the course was the most powerful thing I've ever experienced. Learning tools, and techniques, also how to take them in and make them your own was like learning how to paint powerful imagery only now it was up to me to learn how to speak that imagery.
Not as easy for me, but in the online practicing sessions, I've jumped in the deep water to practice. From successes and not so much successes trying out material with family, friends and in class, it is so exciting to see what comes of what I've learned. The notebook with the class material was helpful in creating a journal of practices with others and their comments.
One of my favorites was with two sisters and their mom, my airbnb guests who were on a retreat at my home to honor their mom. They were interested in my hypnotherapy, so when one went to shake my hand, I grabbed it in such a way that they could look at their palm and I then made a suggestion, which was to haven and have a great time. They all took it in, not just the person who was about to shake my hand and they loved the suggestion. They all did have a great time.
I am now setting up my hypnotherapy business a little at a time. I have organized my office/client room in my home; and I have my first clients coming in through referrals this week. I'm thrilled.
