“The practices helped me to bring together the two streams of consciousness of dream and waking life”

Andrew’s lucid dreaming teachings stretched my understanding and appreciation of the parallel streams of my “dream life” and “waking life” far beyond what I knew was possible. The practices helped me to bring together the two streams of consciousness of dream and waking life, and my life experience increased in clarity, joy, playfulness and depth. Andrew’s teachings also helped me explore how lucid dreaming can even help me prepare for death, which in turn amplifies my attempts to be more present and alive right now.
After weeks of focused practice in the techniques, and some normal frustration at the lack of progress, the lucidity in my dreams and waking life increased 10 fold. I noticed that the other students and I eagerly awaited to share and hear about each other’s experiences in the class. Andrew created a safe space for learning and sharing that was really beautiful. Sharing was welcomed and honored, and Andrew brought humor and levity to this often clunky process.
Andrew is an intellect and a true scientist-practitioner. His vast depth of knowledge and experience with Eastern and Western philosophy and theology, Tibetan Buddhism, dream and sleep yoga, Western lucid dreaming traditions, and other scientific fields of study (physics, psychology, and neuroscience) is so profound and rich that “taking it all in” could be intimidating to the new learner. However, Andrew is so playful as he articulates the information, and shares such passion, clarity, humor, and curiosity that all kinds of people are included and welcomed to take the journey together. Students and teacher were often laughing along the way. Andrew is known for wonderful analogies that help learners grasp the material. He taught us how to prepare for the night with step by step instructions, and with meditations and visualizations. We learned that nighttime was not about “checking out” but instead about “checking in.”
I feel so blessed to have Andrew introduce me to the many phases and stages of lucid dreaming, a practice I will be exploring for the rest of my life. Every night is a cutting-through journey. It is the gift that keeps on giving.
Thanks Andrew, for supporting me and all of your students to explore these vast dimensions!
