Then, during this journey, I had a breakthrough that completely changed how I look at entrepreneurship. I realized there’s a difference between running in the business, running on the business, and running above the business. I had spent so much time managing operations that I wasn’t giving myself the space to think like a visionary. This shift in perspective was eye-opening.
It wasn’t just about learning new tools or frameworks—it was about creating systems that could run the business without me. Systems that would allow the business to thrive and even expand into what it was truly built for, whether I was involved in the day-to-day or not. I started thinking differently: 'What if I ran my business as if I wanted to sell it? What if everything was scalable, sustainable, and future-proof?'
What also resonated deeply with me was the idea of starting with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). It was a confirmation that sometimes, the best way forward is to begin with a simple prototype—testing the waters before sprinting enthusiastically down the wrong path. This approach gave me the clarity to move forward strategically, without wasting time or resources. It’s about building momentum, learning as you go, and refining the process into something truly effective.
This mindset changed everything. Instead of being the bottleneck, I focused on building processes that could handle the repetitive tasks, the operational headaches, and even the decision-making. I leaned into AI to automate workflows and streamline operations, giving me the freedom to work on the bigger picture—strategic growth, building relationships, and scaling the business to its full potential.
The result? I’m no longer stuck running in the business or even just on the business. I’m now running above the business, creating a structure that’s designed to grow with or without me. This shift has been life-changing—not just for my business, but for me as an entrepreneur. It’s allowed me to focus on what matters most: building something meaningful, scalable, and built to last.
If you’ve ever felt like your business depends entirely on you—like it couldn’t function without you constantly being involved—I want you to know there’s a better way. With the right systems, tools, and mindset, you can build a business that thrives even when you’re not there. You can create something that grows, scales, and even becomes ready to sell, should you ever want to.
Let’s connect. Whether you’re overwhelmed by the grind or just looking for a way to break free and step into your role as a true visionary, I’d love to share what I’ve learned and help you take that next step.
