I’m Domenic, a passionate educator. I’m director of a small ski school in the Cascades (Hoodoo) where I manage a staff of 70. I’m stoked to bring this knowledge and tech to my work and use it to accomplish my life’s purpose, a new type of education for kids around the globe.
Here’s the start of my list:
1. I actually write a bit slower in some lengthy emails b/c I load it into GPT and have to cut down and summarize my emails into bullet points for my staff. Pages turn into a paragraph, which means they actually read it.
2. I created a Custom GPT to answer all the questions about pricing for our lesson products. We have 4 levels of lessons, ski and snowboard, junior / adult pricing. That's 16 products. Then adding lift tickets / rentals. Then I have private lessons, family lessons, Cross Country lessons. Overall there's probably 60+ payment combos and the GPT answers these pretty much flawlessly.
3. I used /describe in MJ to reverse engineer a flyer and turned it into a billboard that was actually live for an event my wife put on.
4. I use GPT as an OCR, dropping in an image and having it turn it into text, very helpful
5. I have a separate GPT to address issues better than I could do by myself
6. The biggest thing has been my AT database for my instructors. I have ALL their info in one place, then they can sign up for clinics via a form. Then b/c they attended the clinic they can fill out a feed back form. I rolled their comments together into one cell, then built an AI Trigger that performs an aspect based sentiment analysis. Tells me what worked and what didn't AND it then gives me suggestions for what to do next time. This isn't even for me, I built it for my Training Director. (Bonus: anyone with ANY product or coaching service should use this to categorize the feedback and improve)
7. I used Chat GPT to determine how to teach Chat GPT to other Ski Resort Directors, basically how they could become more efficient and effective
8. I’ve performed an Aspect Based Sentiment Analysis of my resort, analyzed 1700+ Google reviews to determine how we are doing (0 negative ski school reviews I might add)
9. I parse HTML out to read regular text
10. I give Chat GPT Regular text to turn into HTML
11. I can effectively use Windows Powershell b/c of Chat GPT
12. I set up Python, pytorch and Cuda with chat GPTs help
13. I got Whisper running as well
14. From Domenic’s class, I built a story for my friend who is in marketing
15. I’m well versed with the work of Oren Klaff and Pitch Anything, I’ve had Chat GPT build multiple pitch decks using his framework
16. Yesterday I was meeting with the CEO of a local software firm and told him I incorporate Strunk and White’s Elements of Style into most of my GPT responses and his jaw dropped and he said, “That’s fucking brilliant!”
17. He uses Chat GPT to follow APA Guidelines for citing sources. (knowing exactly where to put commas and periods is ridiculous!)
18. Knowing how to properly write something for Grant writing like using “Generative AI” vs “Gen AI” vs “GAI” vs “AGI” which this last one is completely different.
19. I built several gift certificates and a couple posts for FB for the Ski School. DallE3 worked better for this.
20. I created an entire ½ day training for my staff utilizing the teaching theories of David Kolb’s Experiential Learning. I had Chat GPT develop 5 separate 13-step progressions for skiing and 5 more 13-step progressions for snowboarding. (this was a LOT of work get running…basically needed a PERFECT example. Then a lot of iteration to get the GPT to get it right). All in all it’s 130 steps that creatively teach people how to ski and snowboard based upon the learning styles of Divergent, Assimilating, Convergent, Accommodating. The staff all built their own and compared it to GPTs.
21. I again used Oren Klaff’s framework to develop a cold calling script pitching my workshop to local clients. At first the GPT sucks. It could NOT write in a speaking voice. Even if I said, “colloquial” or “speaking voice”. But it got the message organized into paragraphs and was simple to read. So I then “paraphrased” the script using voice to text in Google Docs. I then dropped in JUST the first paragraph I paraphrased and this one example was enough for Chat GPT to rock it. It cut down the script by over 50% and sounded like anyone was talking fluidly on the phone.
What this comes down to is efficacy or efficiency. Often both. So then dropped the above into Chat GPT, told it to categorize it and mark if it was efficient, effective or both.
