The Silva Ultramind System

"I look forward to exploring and applying these methods with you in the weeks that lie ahead"

I started the Silva Ultramind System course a couple of days ago after having listened to an audiobook by Jose Silva. I suppose the audiobook gives an introduction to the methods explored in the Ultramind course.

Anyway, I followed the exercises in the audiobook and envisioned myself playing much better golf. Not PGA standard, just better. After a couple of exercises, I went back out on the golf course, hopeful, but not really sure of what to expect.

I lost sight of my second ball and my caddy immediately went looking for the ball in the bushes. Why? Because I’m a “ball in the bushes” type of player. But as we searched for the ball and in the process getting throughly scratched by thorns, a voice in my head kept telling me, “Your ball isn’t here.” In the end we gave up. I took the penalty and carried on playing.

To my surprise and elation, we did find the lost ball after all. It had landed on the other side of the green, five meters from the flag. Of course, that could have been a fluke shot. Every golfer will hit those from time to time. But over the course of the round I found I played with a lot more assurance. Even in difficult situations I was always sure of the outcome, and that the outcome would be good. At the end of the round when I totted up my score, I’d taken 10 shots off my usual score, which for a ball in the bushes golfer, is huge.

I’ve noticed other small coincidences in recent days as well. Like walking straight to the store I was looking for in a mall I’d never visited before.

Of course there are lots of things that are much more important than golf or store location. And I look forward to exploring and applying these methods with you in the weeks that lie ahead.
