My brother used to joke that our parents wanted a boy and that's the only reason they had me. My mom said I should have told him if I was A boy- HE wouldn't be here. The fact remained, they really wanted a boy, it wasn't a joke.

During Marissa's free hypnosis session, which convinced me to buy the program, I went all the way back to the delivery room.

During the mediation, I burst into tears due to a feeling of disappointment that I was not a boy. From that moment on I never saw myself as enough. I could never be a boy- so therefore I could not be enough.

I realized how I did things from a very young age to please my father. Things that I Didn't love but thought would make me more like what he wanted- a boy. I would go to all his boy scout outings, even during the winter in NY. I would freeze and just wanted to go home. I spent four years as a Soldier and then became a Correction Officer, surrounded by men in predominantly male jobs.

This year is for me. I am asking myself questions like, "What do you want to do?", "How do you feel about doing XYZ? If I don't feel great about doing something, I'm not doing it just to please others.
