I am a facilitator and executive coach. I run certification programmes for the Myers Briggs Type Instrument across New Zealand and Australia and I meet hundreds of people every year. My biggest challenge has been to try and remember people’s names not just one per one course but when I have clients who return for other courses. It can be quite embarrassing to have forgotten someone’s name after having taught them for 4 days! But when you do remember someone’s name, perhaps because you connected with them, you can see the delight on their face when they realise that you’ve remembered them!
Even though I’d actually taught some of these techniques on a Cognitive Psychology course years ago, I must admit I hadn’t actually actively practiced these techniques. So when I saw Superbrain advertised and watched Jim’s introductory video, I thought that it would be great to get back to actually learning and practicing these again.
I must say my experience with Jim’s style of teaching and the entire Superbrain quest has been awesome! Jim really has a way with connecting with you…even though it’s a recorded video and his down to earth, friendly style combined with the bite sized nature of each lesson, had been extremely helpful in reconnecting with my brain!!
Quite possibly the most memorable thing about this course has been, not just the very useful memory techniques but little brain exercises that Jim does in between lessons!! The things that stuck out for me were the body folders which helped me easily remember the ten brain foods and Jim’s morning routine, which I have adopted!
My next big challenge will be to use Jim’s technique for remembering names on the next course that I run in September!!
