Here is the reflection I wrote following the lesson.
My 5 packets of generosity which I will focus on reinvigorating my husband (after 7 years of caring for our brain-injured daughter) are:
1) Time - I need to find ways to give him more time to sleep and to play
2) Healthy food - I have been overhauling the way we eat by preparing meals that are more plant-based and less processed for about 6 months now. Further improvement is needed.
3) Exercise with our son - This will benefit them both, for example letting them have a run together every other day will strengthen their bond and connect them to nature some more (as well as boosting their physical health).
4) Romantic relationship - our daughter’s care leaves little time for self and for care of our marriage. I want to carve out opportunities to connect for the well-being of our hearts and marriage.
5) Spirituality - I will help him to ground and recharge and I think this will greatly boost his spiritual, mental, and physical health. I loved that what could be a “what’s in it for me”-type quest is so obviously also about how I can serve and transform others’ lives too. Of the many things I enjoyed about the quest, this part was my favourite!
