This course has been simple, yet profound for me. Ever since I started, I have seen myself become much calmer with my kids. I don’t think I have had a ‘blow up’ and gone head-to-head with either of them, I have been much more calm and observant, and they have responded with a mirrored calmness following their anger/outburst. While they are still being ‘kids’, fighting, yelling at each other and at me, I feel much more at peace with the ‘isness’ of that... they are kids, they are still learning their way!
I always knew that yelling back at them never solved the problem, it only made it worse, but now I feel as though I have the emotional skills and strength to stay conscious and mindful. I feel much less stressed since becoming more conscious of my own behaviour!
I truly understand that it is all about us as the parents, how we control our own behaviour, because trying to control our kids is the cause of much of our stress, anger, anxiety, sadness, fear... the list goes on!
